On August 29, 2017 NISI KR in partnership with the Embassy of India in the Kyrgyz Republic, held a round table "Kyrgyz Republic: overcoming difficulties and the way ahead".
A delegation from the National Defense College of India (National Defense College, India, NDC), led by Major-General Sunil Shrivastava and experts from Kyrgyz side took part in the round table.
Experts agreed that it is economic development in the region that is the key factor in ensuring regional security and they also stressed the need to strengthen partnership in preventing violent extremism and developing new approaches on this matter.
The Kyrgyz side noted that India for the Kyrgyz Republic is not a well-known country, there is insufficient information, knowledge about it, but there is a big interest to know better.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed a hope that such regular exchange of views will contribute to further strengthening of cooperation between two countries.
For reference: This visit is organized within the framework of the annual training program of the Indian military establishment for a more accurate understanding of socio-political, economic issues, as well as the security issues of the visiting country.
