On December 21-22, as part of the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Institute for Strategic Studies of the Kyrgyz Republic (NISS KR) and the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IPIS), the Director of the IPIS with the rank of the Deputy Minister of  Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Kazem Sadjadpur visited Kyrgyzstan. The Iranian delegation also included Deputy Director of IPIS Bahadur Aminiyan and Head of the IPIS department for the study of Central Asia and Caucasus Mohsen Park Parvar.

On December 21, 2017 NISS KR on the basis of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic held a round table dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The round table was held with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

At the round table, topical issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed dedicated to the establishment of diplomatic relations, the current state and prospects of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between two countries. Speakers noted the need for further intensification of cooperation and the signed Long-term Cooperation Plan 2016-2026 is a "road map" for the promotion of planned projects.

On December 22, an expert dialogue on international and regional politics, bilateral relations was held at NISS KR, prospects for cooperation (joint studies, articles) were outlined as well during the meeting.
