On November 29, 2017 the National Youth Forum "Government and Youth. Necessary dialogue", at which members of the Government and young people talked in the "direct microphone" format, took place in Bishkek. This dialogue was organized by the National Institute for Strategic Studies of the Kyrgyz Republic (NISS KR) in conjunction with the State Agency for Youth Affairs with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund in Kyrgyzstan (UNICEF).
As you know, NISS KR has been conducting sociological surveys “M-Reporter” among youth on the most pressing issues for the country for more than a year. The purpose of these surveys is to collect the opinions of young people and bring them to the decision-makers. It should be noted that in the M-Reporter's respondent base there are more than 5000 participants from 14 years and older from all regions of the country.
According to the organizers, the Forum's goal was to create an interactive platform for the exchange of views and to provide opportunities for young people to ask their questions directly to members of the government.
At the beginning of the event, 10 facts were presented to the attention of the participants about the Kyrgyz youth, which were obtained during the interviews.
In the second part of the Forum, the youth asked their questions to the members of the Government in the person of the Deputy Minister of Education, the Deputy Minister of Economy, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, the Deputy Director for Youth Policy of the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Secretary of the SRS and the head of the department of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. The questions were of a different nature: about grants and study abroad, information security, tourism development, health insurance and the health of the nation, toughening penalties for traffic violations and many other questions
After the question and answer session, the young people worked in groups.
In conclusion, the youth expressed hope for the sustainability of this format of dialogue.
We will remind that even with the simplest mobile phone, young people can participate in the survey. The voting system is simple: just send the word "Alga" to number 4747 and the respondent will receive questions for registration and the current survey. All survey results are automatically displayed on the site www.mreport.kg, where the analysis is also conducted after the end of the survey.
